Hi,
again a very interesting week at POT. I leave my comments in the following eyejot…

I am not sure whether the free version of wordpress lets you insert video directly. The only option I found was to insert the url to my eyejot. Does anyone know?
You can find an explanation of samba rythm in the following audio clip…
since wordpress will not allow me to upload an mp3 file, I changed the file extension to pdf. So to listen to the audio file, first download and then change the file extension back to mp3. Do this by clicking right button of mouse, then choose “save link as”…
“See/Read” you next week…
I’m working on this – I think it is a major problem that WordPress.com and Edublogs won’t let you embed properly. Look for a post soon…

Hi Nacho,
You are right regarding the authors suggestions. Having a colleague reviewing your work, or recording an introductory video for our online classes is such a great thing to do.
Do you have any experience doing this? I have never taught an online class, and I love to ask these kind of questions since I would like to have an idea of what to expect when I do so!
Saludos,
–Vanessa

Hola Nacho
I am trying to download your presentation so I can change it later to an mp3. Adobe won´t let me do download it. It says the document does not start with %pdf.
I will keep trying.
Saludos!

Hi, I managed to download your audio file. I had to use a download helper program, similar to the vloader program you mentioned.
I use http://www.downloadhelper.net/ which works in Firefox and it can download almost any media from almost any site.
Once I got your audio file I changed the file extension to mp3 and it played fine. I like the music you selected.
I don’t think many students would go to the trouble to get your audio files from this process. If you can’t host the MP3 file you could try http://audioboo.fm/ or http://soundcloud.com where you can save an audio file and then put the link in your website or blog. Then they can click the link and hear it and they won’t have to download anything.

Thank you for the Eyejot! It was great. I am glad you are seeing many ways in which little video clips could be useful. The “breaking the ice” aspect of an introduction video is neat to consider. I hope you have fun creating the introduction video for your students.

Good to see that you’re not about to let a stubborn WordPress.com foil your plans, Nacho! Your creative solution to change the .pdf to a .mp3 worked perfectly for me. I enjoyed the samba music and lesson.
My solution was a bit more complicated. I found this tutorial http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1696878&hl=en-US and followed it to upload my mp3 to YouTube — right, I know you can’t do that — but if you open up your moviemaking program (iMovie in my case) and simply add an image and your audio file (being sure to change the duration of the image to match your audio file), then you can save the file as an mp4 and upload it to YouTube. You’ll see what I mean in my post — http://virtuallyfoolproof.com/?p=1093
Also enjoyed your Eyejot and your idea of using it for introductions. Here’s another nifty tool I like for short (up to 60 seconds) introductions by students — all on one page — http://intervue.me/
Looking forward to more dance-inspired lessons
