Hi Nacho,
I always enjoy your clear, organized summary of the week. What topic do you teach? I teach accounting and am finding that I agree with many of your summaries of the week. I have been kind of shy about commenting and then recently read the rubric for this course, guess I was supposed to be commenting all along. Madrid is a nice place. I have been there. I am here in San Diego- work at Mira Costa College where Jim and Lisa work.
Thanks for your feedback. I need to try eyejot, so far Slidecast has been what I have used the most, since I already have powerpoints for my classes and I am now teaching my class in the hybrid format.
Have a nice week too,
Dawn

Hi Dawn,
thank you for your comments. I currently work at Universidad Europea de Madrid, and teach Computer Science and Engineering, mainly Artificial Intelligence. You say you teach accounting, well, now I am starting to learn the very basics of business accounting since I finally launched my start-up last month. I think everyone should be taught some basic concepts of accounting some time during higher education, not only because of its evident usefulness but also because (to me) it seems so “mind-structuring”.
I think its good to have teachings of the structured as well as the unstructured or free form (sorry I just watched the “Dead Poets Society” a few minutes ago and I might still be under the influence…:)
Keeping up with weekly assignments takes most if not all of my available time, so I often do not find the time to interact with other POT participants, which for me is one of the most appreciated aspects of this course. Well, we still have some weeks left.
When were you in Madrid? I find it very different from Southern California (I travel to La Jolla every summer… and it is always an enriching experience!).
Regards,
Nacho
